WD Meats: delivering highest quality meat products since 1979

The Dillon family’s long association with the livestock industry dates back more than 100 years to the start of the 20th century. Then in 1979, we decided to expand into beef manufacturing and WD Meats was founded by our managing director, Francis Dillon. Eight years later, in 1987, we moved to our present custom-built premises at Coleraine, on Ireland’s North Coast. Located near to the world-famous Giant’s Causeway, this area has a strong farming heritage, with lush green fields as far as the eye can see. We continue to produce beef here, on our family farm.

Since opening our current facility in 1987, WD Meats has enjoyed sustained growth. We believe this is due to our rigorous adherence to a philosophy of continual development and improvement, both in our infrastructure and in our professional skills.

Our modern, 100,000 sq ft plant, built on a 35 acre site, incorporates every aspect of the company’s processing operation under one roof. The Slaughtering, Boning, Packing and Despatch facilities are all provided in-house, which gives us complete control over all stages of production. This means our customers can be assured that the highest standards are maintained throughout. In addition, with a single site operation, we are able to make decisions quickly and implement them straight away. This allows us to respond swiftly to customer requests and to market trends.
